Mount Academy (2) vs Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (3/OT) East U18 Prep
Friday’s clash between Mount Academy and the Ontario Hockey Mavericks features one team on a positive streak, and one on the other side of the coin. The OHA Mavericks have won three straight and four of their last six, while Mount Academy are still in search of their first win of the season following seven straight losses. Mount Academy fell at the hands of CIH Academy yesterday, the same team who they’ll face in their next game later on Friday. The OHA Mavericks held a 2-0 lead throughout the majority of the first forty minutes, but with 30 seconds left in the second period, Mount Academy found their way back into the game. A goal from Cohen Paul pulled Mount back within one, and early in the third, Mount Academy would pull the game back to level ground. Ocean Li stopped 30 of 32 for the Mavericks, ensuring they didn’t go behind. Halfway through overtime, Dmitrii Titovskii capitalized, picking up the puck and taking it straight to the net himself to score the winner.
Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3/SO) U17 Prep
For the 65 minutes in which the puck was in play for Yale Hockey Academy and RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s U17 Prep squads to battle for, there wasn’t much that separated the two teams. Yale had more powerplay opportunities and more shots on goal, but every time a lead was taken, it wouldn’t be long before the opponent dragged them back level. Both leads during the game were taken by Yale, the second of which being Alex Li’s third-period goal to give YHA a 2-1 lead. Less than half of the third period remained from there, but any hope Yale had that Li’s goal would stand at the winner was quickly snatched back. Maddex Mason provided his second primary assist of the game to set up Atley Feniuk for the tying goal, with RHAW picking up the 2-2 goal barely four minutes after YHA had gone in front. Eventually, the game found its way to a shootout. Three of the six shooters beat the goaltenders, with Connor Lamb delivering the knockout blow with the last shot of the skills competition.
BWC Academy (5) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U17
For the first time since October 12, BWC Academy faced down a new opponent in the U17 division, facing the Notre Dame Hounds to follow five straight games against PCHA. BWC won the last two, rolling into their game against Notre Dame with momentum on their side. Jaidyn Bhandari scored for BWC in the first period, and while Notre Dame would fight, BWC would never let them steal the lead. Logan Jensen (1G, 1A) scored shorthanded in the third period, with that standing as the game-winner, thanks in part to three assists from Easton Coupland and a sparking performance from Nolan Costa (35/37) in the BWC crease.
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Notre Dame Hounds (3/SO) U17 Prep
In eight previous U17 Prep games, the Notre Dame Hounds had won zero heading into Friday’s clash with the North Shore Warriors. Despite their slow start to the season, they’d have a quick start to the game, scoring two first-period goals 13 second apart. The Hounds looked primed for their first win of the season, but the plot saw a twist in the third period. Vladimir King scored twice for North Shore to send the game to overtime, and subsequently, a shootout. He’d score the first of the shootout, but following that, Notre Dame came back, and Joey Jackson played hero. Trent Probst made 36 stops on 38 shots to help the Hounds to their first victory of the year.
North Shore Warriors (6/OT) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (5) U17
The U17 team for the North Shore Warriors were winless in eleven straight to start the season, and within those eleven, two came at the hands of Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy. On Friday, though, the Warriors looked the more likely to prevail for much of the game. They’d race out to a 3-0 lead early, and although CDA’s big guns provided pushback, North Shore responded in kind, leading 5-2 by the game’s halfway mark. CDA didn’t stop. Logan Madrid (1G, 3A) and Tate Smith (2G, 1A) helped their team forage forward, eventually coming from behind to force overtime. However, it was North Shore’s Keegan Hole to strike the telling blow, scoring the overtime winner off the rush to snag North Shore their first victory of the U17 season.
Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Edge School (4/OT) U17 Prep
Two of the top teams in the U17 Prep division clashed in Abbotsford Friday, with the undefeated Delta Hockey Academy facing down an Edge School squad who haven’t had it easy in the last five games, losing twice and picking up two razor-thin victories that could have gone both ways. At three different points during the game, Delta scored to take a lead, and following each of those goals, Edge School followed up to tie the game themselves. Following the 3-3 deadlock through sixty minutes, overtime ended up going the way of the team yet to lead. Evan Lynch struck in OT with his ninth goal of the year already, giving Edge a big victory and handing Delta their first U17 defeat of the season
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U17
Prairie Hockey Academy scored once in the first period with Jake Myhre (1G, 1A) giving his team the lead within the first minute. Soren Hayden popped up early in the second period to extend PHA’s lead early, and from there, they ran away with the game. Hayden scored again later in the second and goals from Tristan Reimer (2G, 1A), Eric Helland (1G, 2A), and Noah Delaurier (1G, 1A) scored later in the period. Conner Aldag had the quieter of the two goaltenders’ workloads, but he still needed to pop up with some saves for Prairie, making 18 stops for the shutout.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squads was one that CDA almost let escape their grasp. With 16 minutes left in the third period, CDA had opened up a 4-1 lead, looking like cruise control would allow them to see out the rest of the game. They wouldn’t be comfortable for long, though, with two PMHA goals making it close. Under duress, CDA managed to close out the game, hitting the empty net to ensure the win.
Fort Erie International Academy (3/SO) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (2) East U17 Prep
An extremely tight-fought game out East between Fort Erie International Academy and Okanagan Hockey Ontario swung in both directions, with OHO outperforming Fort Erie in the first period, and FEI taking control of the second. Fort Erie scored two in less than a minute early in the second, but OHO came back to level things up, eventually sending the game to a shootout. Five shooters missed, but Etienne Guo found a way to slide the puck into the back of the net, giving FEI the win.

Delta’s Toni Cipllaka (2G, 1A) had scored twice in the first half of the hockey game to put DHA in front, but Nolan Ryan (2G) sent the game to the third period tied, where it would remain until the late stages. Later in the third, OHA Edmonton picked up a pair of goals just 20 seconds apart. Delta would add another late, but it wouldn’t be enough, with Tucker Porter’s (1G, 1A) backhand goal standing as the game-winner.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15

Yale Hockey Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (3/OT) U18 Prep
One of just two games in the male U18 Prep division featured two teams keen on picking up a win. St. George’s picked up a 6-3 win over the North Shore Warriors back on November 8, but prior to that, they’d lost 8 of their previous nine. A win looked out of their hands nearly halfway through the third period with Yale ahead by two, but around then, Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (1G, 2A) took over. He picked up a primary assist on a goal from Jason Gao (1G, 2A) before striking on the powerplay late in the third to drag the game to overtime. Off a neutral zone face-off, Holowaychuk broke into the offensive zone and would shovel a pass into the slot where Noah Fowler stuck home the winner.
St. George’s School (1) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad have been on a roll all season. Their high-flying offence deserves plenty of the credit, but on Friday, it was goaltender Colton Lutz (35/36) who made the difference for CIHA. Goals from Sam McLean and Eric Savage Keller sent Calgary IHA on their way, and with a two-goal lead, Lutz stood strong. Winston Chicilo ended the game with three assists in his team’s 3-1 win.

After letting the lead slip, BWC went into the third only up by one. They didn’t let ISA any closer than that. Coen Hlady finished his hat-trick, Kooper Kozmeniuk scored his second, and a pair of points from Connor Liu (1G, 3A) led them to an eventual 8-3 win.

However, the lone goal they gave up on the penalty kill was costly as it was the game winning goal scored by Cam Hoggan (1G, 1A) assisted by Hunter Hoggan (2A).
